At this year 10th Heat Treatment Exhibition in Moscow SGL Carbon GmbH is participating the first time with the slogan:

SIGRABOND® Performance was introduced into the Heat Treatment market in 2012 already and is now the benchmark when it comes to CFRC for charging fixtures and furnace hot zone equipment. Thanks to its new type of structure based on unidirectional layer rather than conventional woven carbon fibers this newly developed carbon fiber reinforced graphite material (CFRC) offers dramatically improved performance and can be optimized to meet individual customer requirements:
About 20% higher stiffness leads to more filigrane structures (e.g. CFRC charging fixtures)
Less thermally active mass in the furnace enables increased furnace load or shortened process cycles
configurable component system for the most common fixture dimensions leads to an optimum price- performance- ratio.
High fiber content ,dense surface structure and low porosity allows application in heat treatment processes with oil quenching
Thus SIGRABOND ® Performance is both technically and economically highly efficient.
Moreover we present our new C/SiC material SIGRASIC® Performance based silicon infiltrated CFRC which offers additionally to the benefits of SIGRABOND® Performance :
Oxidisation resistance on air up to 500°C ( e.g. for pre-oxidizing in continuous heat treatment processes)

SGL Group highlighted graphite specialties at the 14th international conference “Ti – 2016 in the CIS”
On its way to open up the Russian market, SGL Group showcased its comprehensive range of graphite products for the titanium market and the chemical industry at the international conference “Ti – 2016 in the CIS”, from May 29-31 in St. Petersburg, Russia.
The focus of the conference was the examination of the titanium and ferrotitanium market, especially in the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), but also world-wide. The discussions showed again the high relevance of production technologies such as melting, casting, and shaping at very high temperatures for the metal industry, as well as the increasing demands on material purity, product lifetime, and cost efficiency, the requirements for components and systems in this context.
Vladimir Soklakov gave a presentation to introduce SGL Group’s graphite materials for anodes applied in magnesium electrolysis, graphite crucibles for vacuum melting Ti alloys and graphites for Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) to the 220 “Titan” members, consisting of leading global manufacturers from twelve countries.
SGL Group has been a member of the Interstate Association "Titan" for more than three years.
The Board of Directors of JSC "Interstate Association Titan" has decided to conduct regular annual scinece-technical conference "Ti-2016 in the CIS" in St. Petersburg in late May 2016. Stay tuned.

VSMPO-AVISMA is investing up to 600 million dollars in the deposit in the Tambov Region.
The VSMPO-Avisma Corporation is planning to develop its own ilmenite deposit in the Tambov Region so that it could reduce its dependence on raw stock from Australia, Ukraine and other countries.
At the moment, the company is working on a pilot project of the future mine. In addition to ilmenite, mining operations are being planned for other minerals. The estimated investment in the deposit amounts to 300-600 million dollars.

The Aluminium Process Team is proud of their achievements. After numerous Drop-Bottom furnaces were commissioned and significant improvements were implemented, this equipment became a top product in our portfolio. In order to emphasize the product catchiness, we registered Drop-Bottom furnace under the new brand name: VertiQuench®. The name describes the process of very fast vertical quenching. The heat treated material is being dropped into the quenching tank placed exactly under the furnace. This is an affordable solution for demanding aerospace applications that provides:
· AMS2750 compliant quench transfer times
· extremely tight temperature uniformity resulting from proprietary and proven airflow innovations
· fast and full load immersion even up to 5 seconds
· compact design enabling line expansion
· low utilities consumption.
SECO/WARWICK latest commissioning of VertiQuench® furnace for the aerospace industry confirms utilities consumption reduction and significant improvement of furnace parameters. We will keep on working with our R&D team for new advanced technologies.

SECO/WARWICK gets order for innovative aluminium annealing furnace system
SECO/WARWICK has received an order for an aluminium annealing furnace that features a simple, compact design and an innovative loading system that does not require power. The furnace is for an Italian company operating in the heating market.
The contract includes the supply of a furnace for annealing of aluminum tubes along with the control system, supervision of installation, commissioning, transfer devices and staff training.
The simple design of the furnace ensures reliability and low operating costs. A unique system for loading and unloading does not require electricity and can be operated manually by one person.
The compact design does not require expensive foundations and permits the furnace to be placed directly on a shop floor. Also, the furnace can be relocated without complete disassembly.
